Ministries of the Friendship Baptist Association

Missions. Evangelism. Discipleship.

The mission of Friendship Baptist Association is to exalt Jesus Christ by serving our churches, helping them to fulfill the great commission by becoming more effective in missions, evangelism, and discipleship.

Hispanic Missions

We support two Hispanic Missions in the local area: Hispana Bautista Americus and Hispana Bautista Preston. The Americus mission is thriving under the guidance of two ordained ministers, Rev. Alexander Pineda and Rev. Geronimo Santamaria. The Preston mission is thriving under the lay leadership of Bro. Guillermo Perez.

Both missions have a heart for reaching their communities with the Gospel. They ask that we pray that hearts will be softened and God glorified through their work.

Partnering with the Hispanic Missions

“Please pray for God to show you how He wants you and our churches to support the Hispanic missions through prayer, encouragement, and financial support. Then be obedient to go where He leads and do what He desires.

I know that by having a joint English-Spanish service and sharing a meal, all involved would be blessed. Please contact me to help plan the service and translate.” -Dr. Sam Harper, Hispanic Missions Coordinator

Community Baptist Church, Buena Vista

Beginning in 2025, Central Baptist Church and the Friendship Baptist Association are working together to open Community Baptist Church in the facilities of the former First Baptist Church in Buena Vista.

FBA Churches are asked to prayerfully consider how they can help with the adventure.

Partnering with Community

We need dedicated prayer partners and partner churches. Additionally, we need a dedicated church plant team to serve on the worship team and to cook meals for a Wednesday night program.

Additionally, the bathrooms need to be remodeled, there are outreach activities, and we need $2,000 to purchase copies of The One Year Bible.

Desoto Mission

Desoto Baptist Church closed its doors in 2022. The building and remaining funds were given to the FBA for future ministry purposes. The church now serves as an outreach hub into the community and a training facility for leadership development.

Friendship Camp

Friendship Camp was established in 1952 with a vision that it would be an evangelistic tool into the community. Since then, more than 1,000 people have made first-time salvation decisions at this campground.

The camp also serves as training ground for future church leaders by training volunteers to share the gospel and by hosting our AIM Summer Missionaries.

Summer Camp Report

In 2024, 342 campers came to Friendship Camp during June. Praise God – there were 31 total decisions for Christ, including 14 first-time salvations!

Together We Build Friendship

God’s not done building His kingdom through Friendship Camp. We see a day when Friendship Camp will be able to host marriage retreats, training seminars, and multiple groups.

Counting Down to our 75th anniversary

Our summer camps will turn 75-years-old in 2029. Our Friendship Camp Development Committee wants to celebrate by finishing our Master Building Plan.

Can we count on you?

Partnering With Friendship Camp

Our churches are encouraged to pray regularly for Friendship Camp. We challenge churches to send kids to our life-changing camps. Churches can also plan a workday out at Friendship Camp, sponsor a renovation project, or fundraise for our Capital Building Fund.

Season Opener Steak Dinner

The FBA Men’s Ministry team partners with our churches each October to throw this steak dinner with the goal of sharing the gospel with men. Since 2023, there have been over 50 salvations and 200 rededications at this event.

Contact Rev. Scotty Jones, our Men’s Ministry leader, for information on how your church can help make this event a success. You can also donate money to cover the cost of raffle prizes and food.

The FBA is focused on developing discipleship within our churches with dedicated Men, Women, and Youth leaders. Our Ephesians 4:12 Council is also focused on raising up leaders within our churches.

Additionally, we have three special initiatives that our focused on discipleship: Calling Out the Called, Advancing in Ministry, and the Georgia Baptist Bible Institute.
